Shronebirrane Stone Circle and Rabach’s Way – 4km

rabachwalk2This walk takes you along Shronebirrane Valley, past Shronebirrane Stone Circle to the settlement at Cumeengeera, which is located on a plateau amidst the mountains.  This abandoned settlement was once home to 29 people (1841) but the population was ravaged by the famine and in 1871 only 7 remained. Ruins of some of the houses still remain. The stone circle and settlement are on private land and a small admission fee is charged.

Shower facilities are available at Pedals & Boots to freshen up at the end of your walk
