We are located in the heart of the Beara countryside and numerous scenic walks can be accessed from this point. Quiet roads and beautiful scenery make this an ideal location for putting on your boots and going for a walk! The famous Beara Way walking route can be easily accessed from us. Other suggested walks include:

Cahelkeelty Stone Circle – 3km

This walk takes you along the main road for 2km and then you go off-road along a marked path that leads on to part of the Beara Way walking route. The stone circle is along this walking route. Enjoy spectacular views of Kenmare Bay from the top.

Shronebirrane Stone Circle and Rabach’s Way – 4km

This walk takes you along Shronebirrane Valley, past Shronebirrane Stone Circle to the settlement at Cumeengeera, which is located on a plateau amidst the mountains.  This abandoned settlement was once home to 29 people (1841) but the population was ravaged by the famine and in 1871 only 7 remained. Ruins of some of the houses still remain. The stone circle and settlement are on private land and a small admission fee is charged.

Shower facilities are available at Pedals & Boots to freshen up at the end of your walk
